I am so exited to share what is just the beginning of a very exiting creative project with you!

At college, I of course studied photography and the final subject title I was presented with was “Nocturne”.
I ventured down many different avenues when producing images which fitted with this theme. as I had already done an entire topic on equestrian photography, I wanted to explore concepts that differ to my usual style, so instead, I delved in to the concept of dreams, though portraiture!!
Creating images that are unusual, dreamlike and each containing an unexpected element; my mind kept inventing new and exiting possibilities! You will see below one of my final images, inspired by the story of snow white.

Snow White

It’s been several years since I completed this project at college, but with more ideas I would like to bring to life, I have made the decision to create an equestrian nocturne series. This will be a project I can develop over time and I can’t wait to do so!

When commencing this project, as mentioned above, the story of Snow White, but also my love for Narnia (The Lion, The Witch and the wardrobe) as a child, inspired the idea of bringing objects, usually found within the home, in to a variety of beautiful locations.

My First Nocturne shoot was back in May, with Ferne and her gorgeous boy Mick among the Rhododendrons, where we created this set of images titled “faith”

faith is taking the first step when you can’t see the whole staircase.

Then, earlier this week, I did the second shoot of the series with Meg and Ella, Here is a first glimpse of this set of images titled “seeker”.

I have enormous number of ideas in my head for further shoots in this series and I can’t wait to share them with you in due course.
