We are heading into the season, when the trees put on a show. Bursting with bright reds, oranges, and yellows, it’s like nature is showing off before winter comes. The crunchy leaves underfoot and the cool, crisp air just make it all feel so cosy.
Autumn simply has to be my favourite season for a photo shoot! along with the beautiful colours of trees, the soft golden light is just magical. With crisp days, autumn is the perfect Time to bring out those cosy, warm outfits & for horses to look smart with their fresh clips.

Autumn Photo Shoot Style Guide
My top tips when choosing your autumn outfits.
1. Knitwear
- Chunky Knitwear: Oversized knit sweaters look great with fitted jeans and provide warmth during chilly shoots.
- Roll neck Knitwear: a thin roll neck is the perfect base layer, which we can feature as an outfit, but also accessorise with a jacket to bring an entirely new look.

2. Autumn Outfit Colour Palette
- Natural Tones: Opt for earthy hues such as terracotta, moss green, and mustard to blend harmoniously with the landscape.
- Avoid clashing Colours: For autumn shoots, I recommend using earthy tones, rather than vibrant colours that clash with the oranges and bronze tones

3. Stylish Outerwear
- Tailored Blazer: a tailored blazer can elevate your outfit while keeping you snug.
- Trench Coats: I love trench coats – they are so sophisticated & really bring a whole outfit together

4. Footwear Choices
- Country Boots: If the forecast calls for rain, stylish leather boots can keep you dry without sacrificing style.
- Suede Boots: For the drier autumn days or for shots on your yard, suede boots are beautiful!

5. Accessorize Thoughtfully
- Scarves: A vibrant scarf can not only add color but also serve as a cosy accessory.
- Hats: Depending on the style you are looking to achieve, a baker boy or fedora style hat can really tie your outfit together.
- Heirloom Jewellery: Incorporate meaningful pieces to add a personal touch to your outfit.

6. Fancy something a bit different?
- Going to the ball: As with every season, for those of you wanting to feature something a bit different, a ballgown is the perfect way to achieve the fairytale look.
- The casual dress: Something a little more casual, but still tying in those beautiful neutral tones (as shown in the image below.

7. Men’s Autumn Outfit Styling
- Many of the same concepts apply: Dress your outfit up or down – use neutral tones – consider accessories – wooden jumpers bring the cosy look.

8. Final
- Mix & Match: Don’t be afraid to mix different layers and textures.
- Show your personality: It is so important that you feel happy in the outfits you choose (we can include three in each photo shoot)
